For Jesus taught that someday “all those in the memorial tombs” will be resurrected. John 5:28
Isaiah 25:8:  He will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces. And the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for Jehovah himself has spoken [it].
Revelation 21: 3, 4: " With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

WHEN A LOVED ONE DIES
Have you lost a loved one in death? The pain, the grief, and the feelings of helplessness can seem unbearable. At such times, we need to go to God’s Word for comfort. (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4) The Bible helps us to understand how Jehovah and Jesus feel about death. Jesus, who perfectly reflected his Father, knew the pain of losing someone in death. (John 14:9) When he was in Jerusalem, Jesus used to visit Lazarus and his sisters, Mary and Martha, who lived in the nearby town of Bethany. They became close friends. The Bible says: “Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.” (John 11:5) Though, Lazarus died. How did Jesus feel about losing his friend? The account tells us that Jesus joined Lazarus’ relatives and friends as they grieved over this loss. Seeing them, Jesus was deeply moved. He “groaned in the spirit and became troubled.” Then, the account says, “Jesus gave way to tears.” (John 11:3335) Did Jesus’ grief mean that he had no hope? Not at all. In fact, Jesus knew that something wonderful was about to happen. (John 11:3, 4) Still, he felt the pain and sorrow that death brings. In a way, Jesus’ grief is encouraging to us. It teaches us that Jesus and his Father, Jehovah, hate death. But Jehovah God is able to fight and overcome that enemy! Let us see what God enabled Jesus to do.

Romeo Ralón-Rosales Vida nada me debes, nada te debo May 25, 2009

WE ARE HERE TO CELEBRATE THE GREAT LIFE OF JUAN LUIS IBARRA-RIVERA. ALSO KNOWN AS JUAN, JUAITO, JUNIOR, JUANCH – AND THE UNMENTIONABLE NAMES JUAN SENIOR LOVINGLY CALLED HIM AT THE SHOP. I FIRST MET JUANITO AT ST. BRIGIDS WHEN I WAS IN THE FOURTH GRADE. MR. IBARRA DROVE ALL THE BOYS TO SCHOOL ON HIS MOTORCYCLE, THE ULTIMATE ENTRANCE FOR A 9 YEAR OLD BOY. THE IBARRA CIRCUS HAD ARRIVED AND I WANTED TO JOIN. I WAS THE KID WHO CAME OVER, AND WOULDN’T GO HOME. THE IBARRA’S GAVE IN AND TOOK ME IN. THE GREATEST COMPLIMENT JUANITO EVER GAVE ME WAS TO CALL ME THE “FOURTH BROTHER” I STAND BEFORE YOU IN A PATHETIC ATTEMP TO EXPLAIN A GREAT MAN. PEOPLE HAVE ASKED WHAT HAPPENED TO JUANITO. I HEARD SOMEONE SAY “HE HAD A WEAK HEART”………BUT NOTHING COULD BE FARTHER FROM THE TRUTH. JUNITO HAD A HEART OF PURE GOLD. OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS FRIENDS AND FAMILY FROM AROUND THE WORLD HAVE CALLED TO EXPRESS SHOCK, SADNESS, AND SYMPATHY. THE COMMON THREAD TO EVERY CALL WERE STORIES OF JUANITOS UNCONDITIONAL KINDNESS. A FORMER ROOMMATE OF THE “CASA JUAN HOME FOR UNWED MEN” CALLED FROM JAPAN. SHPENDI TOLD ME HOW HE HAD CAUGHT JUANITO REBUILDING HIS MOTORCYCLE IN THE GARAGE. JUANITO HAD DISASSEMBLED THE BIKE, REPAIRED IT, PAINTED IT AND WAS REBUILDING IT ALL IN SECRET AND ALL WITH OUT HOPING TO RECEIVE ANYTHING FOR HIS LABOR, REFUSING SHPENDI’S REQUEST TO REPAY HIM. HE JUST WANTED TO HELP SHPENDI AND MAKE HIS LIFE BETTER. TRULY SELFLESS AND GENEROUS TO A FAULT. JUANITO WAS A TRUE CRAFTSMAN. WHETHER IT WAS A CAR, A BIKE, JEWELRY, OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE FIXED WITH HUMAN HANDS JUANITO COULD “MCGIVER” IT. ON MY WEDDING DAY ALL THE GROOMSMEN SHOWED UP, AND THE TUXEDOES WERE ALL WRONG, NOTHING MATCHED. BEING A NERVOUS GROOM I WAS OUT OF MY MIND, BUT JUANITO SAVED THE DAY, AS ALWAYS. CALMLY HE BEGAN TO MIX AND MATCH VESTS, TIES, BUTTONS AND CUFFLINKS. USING NOTHING BUT GOD GIVEN SKILL, A PAPER CLIP AND A LOT OF BEER HE RE-DRESSED US LIKE THE WINNER ON AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL. I HAVE THE WEDDING PHOTOS TO PROVE IT – AND I STILL DON’T KNOW HOW HE DID IT. JUANITO’S HEART OF GOLD ALWAYS WAS THERE, HELPING FRIENDS AND FAMILY WITH WHATEVER THEY NEEDED; A PLACE TO STAY, A JOB, A LOAN, A DAY OFF, A RIDE, BUT ALWAYS FRIENDSHIP. JUANITO WAS A TRUE CITY KID. LIKE ANY SAN FRANCISCAN ALWAYS PROUD TO CLAIM “BORN AND RAISED IN S.F.”, EXCEPT A FEW FORGETTABLE YEARS IN PACIFICA. AS MUCH AS HE HATED S.F.’S NEW “POLITICS” HE LOVED HIS CITY AND MOSTLY HIS NEIGHBORHOOD. HE LOVED THE PEOPLE OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD, LIKE FRANCOIS WHO GOT HIM WORK OUTSIDE THE “SHOP”. THE RESTAURANTS LIKE “TAI-CHI” AND BARS, LIKE “THE BUS STOP”. REAL SAN FRANCISCO PEOPLE AND PLACES. BUT HE ESCAPED TO GREENER PASTURES – SAN JOSE. AND WHEN I SAY GREENER PASTURES I MEAN HIS GARDEN. IF ANYONE HAS HAD ONE OF JUAN’S GODZILLA SIZED ZUCCINI YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. HE LOVED HIS TIME AT HIS HOUSE, HE LOVED HIS TIME GETTING DIRTY IN HIS GARDEN AND HE TRULY LOVED ALL OF HIS FAMILY IN SAN JOSE AND FRESNO. JUANITO TOUCHED SO MANY PEOPLE. AT THIS VERY MOMENT IN GUATAMALA HIS FRIENDS ARE HOLDING A MASS TO CELEBRATE HIS LIFE. HIS LOVE AND OUR LOSS IS FELT AROUND THE WORLD. TO THE IBARRA-RIVERA AND UYEDA FAMILY, I WILL DO MY BEST TO BE THE FORTH BROTHER. IF YOU EVER NEED ANYTHING I WILL BE THERE. TO IZZY, MY GOD DAUGHTER, I WILL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR YOU AND YOU WILL NOT WANT FOR ANYTHING. PLEASE DON’T LEAVE HERE SAD. LEAVE HAPPY IN THE FACT YOU HAVE BEEN A FRIEND TO JUANITO, THE MAN WITH A GOLD HEART. WHEN YOU THINK OF JUANITO TRY AND SMILE AND BE LIKE HIM, KIND AND GENEROUS.
Danny Navarrete You will be missed! May 17, 2009

Dear Family and Friends of Juan Luis Ibarra-Rivera,

I was so saddened to hear about Juanito’s death. It was so unexpected.  I am thinking about all of you during this very difficult time.  Juanito was a an extraordinary person.  I will always remember his big heart.   I remember the first time I met Juanito.  Narda and I were in the city for work purposes and we stopped by her uncle’s shop.  Juanito came out with his larger than life personality.  He was telling jokes and very lovingly harassing Narda.  I thought “wow, this guy is great”!  Later on when he learned that I was engaged to his cousin, he made sure to give me his special “Juanito tips” on how to survive a marriage.  I am going to miss him a lot.

I know that your faith will help you make it through this challenging time.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers,

Danny Navarrete
